Over the months.. and guess it's been years, I've stressed the importance of Branding. Branding identifies you and your brand. When your selling a service or product, it's absolutely critical to brand that identity. Give visitor quick easy understanding of who you are or what your product is. Think about Google, eBay or Nike, they have clear simple logos and just seeing those logos, you'll know exactly what they're about. With a brand it's important to market. A brand is nothing unless you push that brand to the masses.
As a web development company, my purpose is pretty singular. It's to develop applications for my clients. But for these applications to succeed they need to have proper branding and marketing campaigns. So when initial talks come to me about applications, I always like to discuss marketing strategies to help them have success shortly after the site launches.

For the last few weeks I've been doing research for potential Flash developers for my business. Over the last few years there have been times where Flash has come up, and depending on the complexity I'll either decline or accept the job. First of all, I'm not a Flash developer, and I personally think they cause more harm than good in the larger scope of things (dealing with Search Engine Optimization, dynamic handling, etc), but the client is always correct. I have a particular client that seems to really want some 'movement' and basic onClick events available. Since I don't 'do' Flash, I need to start shopping around for a firm or contractor to fill the need. Bookmark to:
